The procurement Sandbox exercise is back and looking for volunteers

We’re rolling out the procurement sandbox exercise we trialled last autumn, and we’re looking for volunteer organisations who’d like to use this time ahead of reform go-live, to test their team and processes.

We’re holding a quick lunchtime session via Teams on Wednesday, January 29 at 12pm, to explain a bit more about the purpose of the Sandbox, the format it could take, and how we think it could help you. There’s no expectation for you to commit during the call – just come and hear a bit more.

Here’s the link to join us 👉🏼 https://bit.ly/BlwchTywodCydSandbox

The Cyd sandbox was the number one thing people wanted to speak with us about at Procurex – a safe space within which you can bring key figures from outside of the procurement team together, and a learning opportunity to think about all that’s new under procurement reform – including the responsibilities others have.

Some of the key take-aways from that first Sandbox were captured here, in this blog from the Cyd team 👉🏼https://cyd.cymru/the-cyd-procurement-reform-sandbox-using-foresight-approaches-to-help-deal-with-uncertainty-and-change/

We’re starting by looking at the Competitive Flexible Procedure, and the opportunities it presents, as CFP is something that’s come up a few times during conversations amongst the Cyd community.

  • How can we use CFP to its full potential?
  • Who needs to do what to make the process flow?
  • Are we aware of risks and pitfalls – and what can we do to mitigate them?

We plan to hold multiple sessions, up and down the country and well as online.  We know teams are very busy as we head towards late February, and we want to help you by bringing this test environment to life, to give you peace of mind.
