Circular Economy Hotspot Cymru 7 – 9 October 2024

Welsh Government is pleased to be able to offer 15 complimentary tickets to the Hotspot for those working in procurement for public bodies in Wales.  The three-day ticket options for delegates come with or without dinner. Further information will be provided if you are successful in obtaining a funded place.

Why attend?

Adopting a circular economy approach in public procurement is crucial for creating sustainable, resilient economies. By prioritising the reuse, recycling, and repurposing of materials, public procurement can significantly reduce waste, lower carbon emissions, and conserve resources. This model encourages innovation in product design, promotes local green industries, and fosters long-term economic stability often leading to cost savings by reducing the need for raw materials and cutting disposal costs.

The Hotspot will include a breakout session specifically aimed at using public procurement to drive the circular economy in Wales. During this interactive workshop you will learn how Government policy and practice align, and how the Welsh public procurement influences customers to adopt these principles across the procurement cycle to drive responsible consumption. You can expect to be challenged and to reflect on the actions that you could take to make a difference.

The Hotspot will also offer up networking opportunities across the three days and an opportunity for delegates to take part in circular economy site visits.
