Join the Government Commercial Function Regional Hubs

The Government Commercial Function (GCF) incorporates around c.6,000 people working in commercial roles and GCF commercial staff are spread across the UK in over 25 office based locations.

Many more commercial teams work in the wider public sector, such as the NHS and Police. The GCF also works in close partnership with commercial colleagues in the devolved UK Nations.

There are Regional Commercial Councils in the North, South and Wales and Scotland. These councils are led by organisations based in those regions, including the devolved UK Nations.

There is also a coordinated network of commercial practitioners in Northern Ireland.

The aims of the Regional Hubs are to bring together various organisations, including collaboration with the devolved UK Nations, to build staff networks, offer CPD, share best practice and support attraction, retention and career development.

Key pillars of the new GCF Strategy for 2026-29 are our people and delivering great commercial outcome and the Regional Hubs support both these aims, so why not get involved? You can find out more about our Regional Hubs by going to this KHUB page or by emailing gcf.communications@gca.gov.uk

The GCF will soon be sharing details of the regional conferences 2026, make sure you sign up to those when they are issued. The dates are as follows:

  • Scotland Commercial Conference – Thursday 3 September
  • Northern Ireland Procurement Conference – Thursday 24 September
  • GCF Northern Commercial Conference – Thursday 8 October
  • GCF Southern and Wales Commercial Conference – Thursday 15 October

The GCF’s New Commercial Professionals Network – linked to their Regional Councils – also aims to support, engage and connect colleagues across the GCF and wider public sector commercial community who are in the first five years of their commercial and procurement professional careers. Please submit a request to join the New Commercial Professionals Network on the KHUB group and receive updates.
